Island-dotted Pacific waters, waterfalls reached by 4x4, and a cloud-forest volcano — an immersive summer journey through boutique and eco stays, far from the resort strip.

Panama is where the immersion happens the way it should: boutique villas and eco-lodges instead of resorts, hand-curated days instead of checklists, and nature met on its own terms. We settle on the Pacific coast at Boca Chica — gateway to the islands and marine life of the Gulf of Chiriquí — then climb into the highlands around Barú Volcano, where cloud forest, waterfalls, and volcanic hot springs wait far from any crowd. It's off the beaten path by design, the kind of place where a welcome is real because the crowds never came.
